Crucial hands-free features such as Bluetooth (for calls and audio streaming) or the ability to control your mobile phone through your radio (using Apple CarPlay/AndroidAuto) are only some reasons to seek an upgrade. Adding a backup camera, satellite radio, or Pandora capability might be other features worthy of upgrading for. Having brand name aftermarket speakers will make a big difference in the quality of audio coming from your system. HID (High-Intensity Discharge) bulbs are one of the most common upgrades to halogen headlamps. These lighting systems use ballasts to power a special gas that increases the output of the bulb and therefore your headlights. HID bulbs increase the visibility of many peripheral objects such as street signs and pedestrians.

LED (Light Emitting Diode)  bulbs are also a common upgrade to halogens. Other LED lights and strips are also available and can be placed in various areas on your vehicle for extra lighting.
